I joined the Ventura masters swimming program in 1980 and got introduced to biking and running. Our group routinely swam around the Ventura Pier and biked around Lake Casitas. We did lots of ocean swims and 10Ks.

The event I relish the most is the La Jolla Rough Water Swim – an annual mile swim I’ve done with Sharon. I ran the inaugural LA Marathon in 1986 and several since. Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties offer great biking routes and tours. Best bike tour was with Sharon around Lake Tahoe – aka “America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride”.
